There is a form for locker assignment.
I have filled out eleven of them. Six were for team members who are no longer active. One was for a member whose equipment was destroyed in the field and whose locker I have since cleared, though not reassigned. Two are for members currently in Inactive — Reserved status. Two are for members in Pending — Dimensional Operations.
The twelfth I started on Thursday.
It has a field for name. A field for callsign. A field for assignment date. Fields for equipment specifications, access tier, and emergency contact authorization. The assignment date field has a format guide in parentheses below it: (YYYY-MM-DD). I know the format. I have written eleven dates in that field.
I left the name blank. The callsign blank. The assignment date blank.
What I filled in: locker number. RE-08. The next available in the RE series. RE-07 is still in the log under Rex Splode’s name, with no reassignment flag, which means RE-08 was the correct next entry rather than a gap-fill. I checked twice.
I filled in access tier: standard. Equipment specifications: standard issue, modifications TBD. I noted TBD in the specifications field because there is a field for it and I do not know who this is for.
I saved the form under the draft folder. The filename is PENDING-ASSIGNMENT-001. I created a subdirectory for it because there was no existing category for blank-filed locker forms. The subdirectory is called PENDING — UNASSIGNED. I added it to the category list.
It is the third category I have created since March.
The mug has been in the back of the cabinet for six days. Bulletproof noticed it on day two. He moved it aside to look at the mug behind it, then put it back exactly where it was. He did not ask. Black Samson looked at it once on day four, from the doorway, and kept walking.
Neither asked.
I do not know who RE-08 is for. That is not the kind of thing I know in advance. I know that forty-eight hours is the minimum preparation window for a new team member, based on the intake forms, the access authorizations, and the equipment requisition lead time. I know that RE-07 was cleared in a week, which means I can clear RE-08 in a week if I need to.
I have not filed the form. It sits in the draft folder. There is no deadline on a blank form.
The locker is empty. The form has a name field, and I left it blank, because I do not have a name to put there. When I do, I will fill it in.
That is the procedure.
