His Viltrumite heritage manifests not as imperial conviction but as something the analyst finds difficult to categorize: a refusal to accept loss as final, an escalating threshold for what he will absorb before responding with total force, and a capacity for violence that he uses selectively, almost strategically, in ways that should not be possible for a subject his age.
He is motivated by protection rather than dominance. This is the detail that concerns me more than his physical capabilities.

I want to be precise about why. It is not procedural caution. The Manifesto was filed with confidence. The initial Intelligence Brief was filed with confidence. This file I have reviewed four times because I am not certain the frameworks I was trained to apply are adequate for the subject.
Mark Grayson is Viltrumite. He should be legible to me. He is not fully legible to me. I do not know whether that is a failure of my training, a property of the hybrid condition, or something about what he experienced that produced a configuration I have no reference for.
I am documenting this uncertainty because the Empire does not benefit from analysts who hide what they cannot model.
