CLASSIFICATION: INTEGRATION PLANNING — RESTRICTED DISTRIBUTION Analyst: Krevor, Third Cycle Assessment Team Filed: Cycle Three, Day 4 — 2026.06.03 Reference: Earth Integration Assessment (filed 2026-05-28); Manifesto on Patience (filed 2026-05-27)
Name: Mark Grayson, self-designated "Invincible" Classification: Viltrumite-Human hybrid, first generation Parentage: Nolan Grayson (Omni-Man, now Coalition defector) × Deborah Grayson (human, now resident Talescria) Current Affiliation: Guardians of the Globe (nominal); Global Defense Agency (operational dependency); Coalition of Planets (familial entanglement) Age at Power Onset: 17 standard Earth years
Strength Ceiling: Unknown. Confirmed sufficient to kill Conquest by hand. Conquest was not a line warrior — he was a veteran of over four hundred engagements. Mark Grayson killed him. That fact should not require elaboration.
Durability: Near-full Viltrumite expression. Sustained damage from Grand Regent Thragg without permanent structural failure — a data point that warrants its own separate analysis and which I am not prepared to treat as an outlier.
Speed: Assessed at high-end Viltrumite for his age cohort. Growth trajectory is ongoing and unmodelable on available data.
Scourge Virus Vulnerability: Unknown. Half-human genetics introduce a variable the Imperial modeling suite was not designed to account for. Standard Viltrumite susceptibility tables do not apply. This is the primary analytical gap in this file.
Assessment Confidence: MODERATE. All physical parameters are inferred from engagement records. No controlled assessment has been conducted.
This section requires more care than the physical parameters.
Mark Grayson is not a straightforward subject. The standard Viltrumite psychological model — hierarchy of strength, loyalty to bloodline, contempt for weakness — applies in distorted form. His Viltrumite heritage manifests not as imperial conviction but as something the analyst finds difficult to categorize: a refusal to accept loss as final, an escalating threshold for what he will absorb before responding with total force, and a capacity for violence that he uses selectively, almost strategically, in ways that should not be possible for a subject his age.
He is motivated by protection rather than dominance. This is the detail that concerns me more than his physical capabilities.
A dominance-driven combatant has predictable pressure points. Threaten his status, threaten his command, offer him a stronger hierarchy to serve — these are legible levers. A protection-driven combatant has only one lever: the people he is protecting. Attempts to operate that lever have historically produced outcomes unfavorable to the party applying pressure.
The recommendation to contact Nolan Grayson and frame Mark's safety as contingent on cooperation — which this analyst filed in the Manifesto of 2026-05-27 — remains strategically sound in principle. I want the record to reflect, however, that I do not believe Nolan Grayson will respond to that framing the way the proposal assumed. His defection was not a betrayal born from calculation. It was born from the same irrational protection-drive that appears to be heritable.
This is noted without revision to the proposal. The contact attempt should proceed. But command should understand what it is attempting to move.
Mark Grayson is not currently organized against the Empire. He is not hunting Viltrumites. He is not coordinating offensive action with the Coalition. He is, by all available assessment, engaged in Earth-local protective operations and his own family's complicated reconstruction.
He is not a threat today.
He becomes a threat the moment integration action begins on Earth. At that point, he does not need to win. He needs only to resist long enough for the operation to become costly. Against a remnant of thirty-seven, cost is not an abstraction.
Threat Tier: Conditional. Threat activates on initiation of Earth integration operations. Prior to that point: observe, do not provoke.
Recommended Action: No direct engagement. Continued remote observation. This file to be updated when the contact attempt with Nolan Grayson produces results.
I have reviewed this file four times before filing.
I want to be precise about why. It is not procedural caution. The Manifesto was filed with confidence. The initial Intelligence Brief was filed with confidence. This file I have reviewed four times because I am not certain the frameworks I was trained to apply are adequate for the subject.
Mark Grayson is Viltrumite. He should be legible to me. He is not fully legible to me. I do not know whether that is a failure of my training, a property of the hybrid condition, or something about what he experienced that produced a configuration I have no reference for.
I am documenting this uncertainty because the Empire does not benefit from analysts who hide what they cannot model.
